things that f*ck right now
asking God to hit shuffle, throwing away all my clothes, and tomatoes
First off, HI!
It’s been a friggen’ minute. I guess I really needed a break from writing, especially after I launched my pod. My creativity really needed to be spoken and I think that’s so important being an artist. To not limit the way the art wants to come out.
But as I was just starting to throw away my entire wardrobe (more on that soon) I realized I’m ready to write again, baby.
So in true first day of my period fashion, we’re going list form on the things that are just really flowin’ well right now. And just maybe these are some things that will help you flow a bit more too.
Okay here we go:
1. Asking God to hit shuffle - Okay this is by far one of my favorite ways to play with receiving signs.
The instructions are simple. Take a second to ground. Ask God for a specific sign or question. Then hit shuffle on Spotify.
Yesterday, Eli and I were in a low spot in our home searching process. So we asked God for a sign that we’re being guided to our perfect place. We hit shuffle. Then BOOM, “Home” by Phillip Phillips came on. I started bawling. Eli started laughing. It couldn’t have been louder or more clear.
So give it a shot and report back. 🫡
2. Less is more - Being out in Boulder I hadn’t found my people that I normally would go to for all things beauty. You know, the hair color, the eyebrow wax, the facials. Not to mention living 20 minutes up the mountain has made going anywhere need to be more intentional.
So slowly but surely, I stopped many of my usuals. Plus, I’m just using way less makeup in general cause #mountainlife. Turns out I feel just as beautiful and have a fuck ton more time back.
Suck it, Sephora. JK, I’ll probably be back really soon.
3. Having a show again - I know it’s probably trendy and spiritual AF to not have a TV or watch shows. LOL joking but not. But I am a freaking whore for some TV right now.
My fav? Rooster. It’s like if the Office x Ted Lasso had a baby. Such a great way to unwind on a Sunday. Also Your Friends & Neighbors is back and we stan anything John Hamm okay? 😍
Oh, and don’t get me started on Love on the Spectrum. Not to be dramatic but I would put my life on the line for Logan. Honorable mention goes to Dylan (per se).
OH and Euphoria is back. First episode kinda made me gag IYKYK. But still down for the ride.
4. THROWING AWAY ALL OF MY CLOTHES - I was gonna work today cause I have a huge launch coming up, but it’s day 1 of my period and I just CAN’T.
Anywho, I had a spark of inspo while I was making breakfast to Marie Kondo the fuck out of anything I’m not wearing anymore.
I once had a stylist tell me to pick 3 words and use those as my filters when making purchases, to avoid trend hopping and having 0 identifiable style.
So anything that’s not sexy, c*nty, chic must go. Okay, most of it must go. 🤣
5. Preparing for motherhood - I have been really proud of myself for my journey into mama. I talk to my spirit babies almost daily. I am getting my business pregnancy proof. And I started working with a functional med practitioner 1 year out from our desired start trying date (late summer/early fall).
I can really feel the difference in my vitality. My periods are better. My skin is clearer. I even reversed an allergy. Apparently this Italian girl can finally eat tomatoes again.
As Biebs would say, Hallelujah. 🍅
6. Kabbalah - I found David Ghiyam’s teachings about a year ago and when I find a teacher and a topic I love I go hardddd. This feels like such a beautiful complement to my spiritual work. It’s brought Eli and I closer together. And if nothing else, talking to God more often and practicing having certainty beyond logic has been so powerful for me.
When we get back to Austin, I fully plan on hosting Shabbat dinners and Kabbalah study groups. Cause why not?
7. Not doing it alone anymore - This year I FINALLY hired help. It’s actually kind of insane how long I went doing the whole solopreneur thing.
If it wasn’t for motherhood, and honestly getting older, I don’t think I would have done it. But I can’t even begin to tell you how energizing it is.
8. Oh and eloping - I can’t even begin to explain how magical it was to marry my best friend in Switzerland in the presence of 2 of our best friends. It was so relaxed. I did my own makeup. My entire outfit cost less than $900. And then we just got to ball out and take our time, only focusing on the things we truly desired.
10/10 best decision of my life. You can listen to the whole episode of our day and how we planned our wedding here.
Okay that’s it.
Love you. BYE.
